Star Wars: Episode VII to skip comic-con

It's that time of the year again. That's right, the San Diego Comic Con (often referred to as SDCC). Of course, there are many other comic conventions across the world, but San Diego is undoubtedly the biggest and most important. Over 100,000 people come every year (almost always in elaborate costumes) to here exclusive news and previews of their favorite comics, TV shows, films, and much more.

So, understandably, it's a disappointment to all Star Wars fans that Episode VII will not have a panel this year. Ideally, the director, producers, writers, and cast members would all appear to discuss the film, but that won't be happening.

As usual, starwars.com released this news first and foremost, and regarding the lack of an Episode VII panel, they simply said that the films creators are "deep in production in anticipation of the film's December 18, 2015 release". Perhaps the comic-con panel was considered in the past, but due to Harrison Ford's broken leg, they don't have any time to waste in the production of the movie.

But have no fear comic-con attenders, there will still be plenty of Star Wars to keep you occupied. The full schedule of events can be found here, but the main attraction is the Star Wars: Rebels panel.

According to starwars.com, there will be a "big sneak peak" of "Rebels" at SDCC, as well as a panel appearance with writer Dave Filoni (also responsible for Star Wars: The Clone Wars), executive producer Simon Kinberg (known for producing X-Men: Days of Future Past), and several of the voice actors from the show. The show is set to debut sometime this fall on Disney XD.

What do you think of Star Wars: Rebels? What classic characters do you hope to see on the show? Tell me in the comments!
