New "The Force Awakens" Teaser Reveals Kylo Ren vs. Finn Duel

Another full-length Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer isn't coming until the fall, according to director JJ Abrams, but a short teaser has been posted by the official Star Wars Instagram accountThe teaser begins with a shot of the First Order leaders facing a huge army of stormtroopers. We can't see their faces, but these leaders could include General Hux (Domhnall Gleeson), Captain Phasma (Gwendoline Christie), and/or Supreme Leader Snoke (Andy Serkis). The latter hasn't been glimpsed so far, but JJ Abrams described him as "the most powerful figure on the dark side of the Force". He provides the growling voiceover of this teaser, which is identical to the voiceover of the very first teaser, released last November.

After that, we see a shot of Rey (Daisy Ridley) looking up at something with astonishment. Next to her is BB-8, the cute, rolling astromech droid. If she's looking at something awe-inspiring in the sky, my best guess is that it's a First Order star destroyer. Star destroyers are famously huge and intimidating, not to mention all of the TIE fighters, stormtroopers, and more that lie inside.

The next shot is straight out of the first teaser: Kylo Ren angrily ignites his crossguard lightsaber in the midst of a dark and snowy forest. This inspired weeks of Internet debate about the practicality of the crossguard design. But the most important shot of the teaser is in direct relation to this one: Finn (John Boyega) ignites a blue lightsaber in the same forest, and he looks ready to fight.
Drew Struzan's poster for The Force Awakens revealed that Finn wields Luke Skywalker's lightsaber, formerly owned by his father Anakin, though it's still unknown how exactly he came across the lightsaber after it was lost in Cloud City in The Empire Strikes Back. It was fully expected that both Kylo Ren and Finn would engage in memorable lightsaber duels, but now we know that they'll duel each other, and we know where they'll duel, too.

How do you think Finn came across Anakin's lightsaber? Tell me in the comments, and may the force be with you all.
